Messorem Bracitorium is an endurance athlete’s post-workout paradise. As is with most millennial paradises (what is the proper plural of paradise, really), this brewery can be found in an industrial complex, located just off Lachine Canal in Montreal, which has miles on miles of trails alongside of it.

My only gripe is that this place seems to be a victim of its own popularity. The outdoor seating was 100% full by 1pm on a Sunday (peak hours, yes I know), and it was a perfect spring day in May. It was a short wait to step up to the bar and put in my food & drink order.

Unfortunately, it then took 30+ minutes for my poutine to be ready. I did my best to nurse the hell out of my beer, because I wanted to enjoy it with my food. I also didn’t want to lose my seat on the porch by going up and getting another one, when the place was already packed.
Probably the most bollocks part of traveling solo. You can’t just leave your sh*t unattended, so if you need a refill or to hit the restroom, adios prime real estate.
All of the outdoor tables were full, so I wasn’t really able to enjoy the fresh air before being stuck on a plane all evening.

Overall Rating
Docking it half a star due to two things:
- the kitchen seemed to be understaffed and overwhelmed
- the wooden spork to eat my poutine with was a sensory nightmare
Would certainly go back again, it may have just been an off day. It’s the type of place that’s right up my alley. In order for me to make it back here anytime soon… Go Habs Go?
